CAN I COME TO THE NURSERY TO BUY A TREE FOR ME TO PLANT IN MY YARD?
Scarffs Nursery operates as a wholesale dealer of nursery stock and goods. We sell only to landscape and horticultural professionals on a pre-approved basis. All persons or companies wishing to purchase from Scarff’s Nursery must have a valid Nursery Dealer’s License issued through the State of Ohio. 

Please do not send retail customers to buy nursery stock through any person entitled to wholesale prices.  Contact the Department of Agriculture (614-728-6400) to purchase this Nursery Stock Certificate.
I AM LOOKING FOR AVAILABILITY AND PRICE, HOW CAN I FIND THIS INFORMATION?
Please contact our wholesale nursery office for a password to have access to this information through the website or we would be happy to  email or fax you a current availability.
IS THERE A MINIMUM WHOLESALE ORDER?
We have no minimum wholesale order.
DO YOU PROVIDE DELIVERY?
We can provide delivery to your yard or jobsite.  Depending on the size of the order, we can deliver on our 24’ Stakebed truck or arrange delivery via a semi or other type of truck.

Customers are required to have personnel at the delivery site to unload the order.  Our driver will assist to get material to the back (or side) of the truck but it is the customer’s responsibility to unload.  Our trucks do not have equipment to unload.  Semi drivers do not touch plant material.

Delivery Fees vary depending on type of truck, size of order, etc.
IS THERE A GUARANTEE ON PLANTS PURCHASED THROUGH THE WHOLESALE NURSERY DIVISION?
We give no warranty, expressed or implied, as to life description, quality, productivity, or any other matter of any nursery stock we sell. It is mutually agreed that our total liability for error, should stock prove untrue to name as labeled, shall be limited upon satisfactory proof, to our replacing free or refunding the purchase price thereof.
CAN I TAG MY OWN MATERIAL FROM YOUR FIELDS?
All dig orders are tagged by our staff with the utmost care to meet your needs. If you wish to personally select and tag field material, an additional 10% or $25.00 charge, whichever is greater, will be added.

Dig orders can be picked up at our sales yard location only, or arranged for delivery. Container orders can be picked up on an as needed basis. Dig orders not picked up will be restocked and will be subject to a 25% restocking charge.

We cannot be responsible for plant material not picked up within (7) seven days after notification.  Please call to set up an appointment if you need to tag your material.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL AN ORDER?
Any cancellations of orders must be made in writing and must be received prior to plant material being dug or container material pulled.

Cancellations will not be accepted after the plant material has been dug.

Orders cancelled after the material has been pulled are subject to 25% restocking charge.
WHAT TYPE OF SOD DO YOU USE?
We recommend and prefer a tall turf type fescue blend through Henderson Turf. This is also the premium seed blend we use. This fescue mix sod is a great option as it roots further into the soil to protect it from drought conditions, it is a preferred dark green color, and it has a waxy coating on the blade that helps protect it from disease and wind.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY TREE OR SHRUB DIES WITHIN A YEAR?
What should I do if my tree or shrub dies within a year?
WHAT IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY?
We have a one year warranty on our installation of all trees and shrubs because we know that our nursery provides the best product and we install that product to strict planting specifications. Provided the tree or shrub dies within a year and was properly cared for, it will be replaced. There is an online form [click here] you must submit the form with an image of the tree/shrub. We will get back to you within 2 business day to discuss your solutions.
WHEN WILL MY JOB BE SCHEDULED/COMPLETED?
A rough estimate of schedule will be given upon the receipt of down payment and signed contract. We do our best to be within 5 days of that schedule, but there are a lot of variables that can change a daily schedule. Your designer will keep you updated on the schedule and give you notice the day before the crew plans to arrive.
WHAT IF I WON’T BE HOME ON MY SCHEDULED DAY?
There should be no need for you to be present for the install. The designer will complete a walk through of instructions for the crews and a final walkthrough while the crew is still present to make sure all loose ends are finalized before the crew departs for the final time. During the install, the designer will act as your voice on the site making sure that the contract terms are met.
WHAT IF I WANT TO RESCHEDULE?
As we are at the mercy of nature, we cannot reschedule for an exact day, but we can move your project back behind another project on the production calendar.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT CAN I USE?

CREWS WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY PAYMENT. IT MUST BE MADE DIRECTLY TO THE OFFICE OR THROUGH YOUR PROJECT MANAGER/DESIGNER.
DO YOU DO MAINTENANCE OR LAWN CARE?
We focus on major landscape design and installation, therefore we do not do maintenance or lawncare. We have a minimum financial requirement on all residential jobs. We are happy to recommend a partner in your area for smaller plantings and maintenance jobs.
I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT THE HEALTH OF ONE OF MY PLANTS, CAN YOU ANSWER THAT?
While we have many experts on staff, we do not offer a home service or web service that provides care or pruning tips after our initial installations aside from our exit package. We suggest that you reach out to an arborist in your area for these specific questions about how to keep your trees and plants healthy and thriving once they are installed.
